Families get a break of $100 savings if season passes are purchased by Oct. 31. The cost by the deadline for families of four, including parents and children that are West Virginia residents is $600 instead of $700. Out-of-state families pay $1,000 compared to $1,100.

Canaan Valley encompasses the Canaan Valley Resort, Timberline Resort and the White Grass Nordic Center. The valley itself is 14 miles long and five miles wide. It is the highest valley of its size east of the Rocky Mountains and receives an average of nearly 80 inches of snow annually. So, there should be plenty of snow.
