Snowbomb is putting on its second ski and board festival in San Francisco Nov. 7-8 and, due to the success of the first event, has added a Silicon Valley festival Nov. 14-15. The unique event combines features of a tradition snow exposition with wine and beer tasting.

"We used to be an exhibitor at many other ski shows, but we were unhappy with the events," said Jim McAlpine, President of Snowbomb and promoter of the event. "They were stale and boring. Our festivals are revolutionizing the consumer ski show industry." Snowbomb anticipates more than 20,000 visitors to the festivals.

The festival includes deals on equipment, a rail jam, and booths from all Lake Tahoe resorts plus more than 20 other resorts including Squaw Valley, Whistler, Vail, Mammoth, Jackson Hole, Sun Valley, and Big Sky. Lombardi Sports and Porters Lake Tahoe will be selling gear at prices up to 70 percent off retail rates. Kids can play in the snow area or watch professional BMX and skaters hitting the halfpipe. Each attendee will receive a free lift ticket for skiing or riding at Bear Valley, Dodge Ridge, or Sierra Summit plus a one-year subscription to Freeskier or Snowboard magazines.

The event also gives a chance to sip premiere wines and boutique beers. More than 150 wineries and breweries will be offering tastes of their newest flavors. Saturdays feature the wineries and Sundays the breweries.

The San Francisco festival takes place at Fort Mason Center's Festival Pavilion in the Marina District Nov. 7-8. The Silicon Valley festival takes place at the Santa Clara Convention Center. Doors are open Saturdays 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. and Sundays 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Wine and beer tasting sessions run 1-5 p.m.

Tickets are available online. General admission tickets cost $15 per day. Tickets for general admission plus wine and beer tasting cost $30 and include commemorative glassware. Discounted tickets are available online. Regular price is $20.40. General admission tickets are 2-for-1 at participating Costco stores.
