Sun Peaks Resort launched its I Want To Be The Snow Bum video competition. The winner will receive a three-month all-inclusive stay at Sun Peaks for this winter in trade for communicating the ski bum life through words and video on social networking sites on the Internet.

Entry to the contest is via a sample video and a written-essay assessment. The competition winner will be provided with a season pass for Sun Peaks Resort, food vouchers, lodging in a number of Sun Peak hotels, equipment, outerwear, and airfare. The winner also will enjoy a wide range of additional perks including VIP and backstage passes to resort events and functions.

Potential snow bums can win the three-month stay at Sun Peaks by submitting a 60-second video showcasing their wit, charisma, love of mountains, and the ability to make the most of the adventure. The competition is open worldwide to any intermediate skier or snowboarder over 19 years old. Contestants must have an applicable visa for the duration of their stay if they are from outside Canada.

Videos for the competition must be submitted by Nov. 15. Judges from Sun Peaks will announce the finalists Nov. 19. The finalists will then undergo an interview and written-essay assessment. The winner will be announced Dec. 1 and begin their three-month stay Jan. 4.

The winner will be expected to update their activities on social media avenues such as Facebook, Twitter, and the official blog for the I Want To Be The Snow Bum project.
