Wisp Resort in Western Maryland just announced a line up of packages for this winter. The Slide and Ride weekend package means sliding on snow and riding on the resort's  Mountain Coaster ride.  Lodging at the Wisp Hotel, a Mountain Coaster ticket,  one night lift pass and two daytime lift passes cost $169 pp per night with a minimum two-night stay.

The offer is available Friday and Saturday nights Dec. 18, 2009 - Mar. 6, 2010. Reservations are required and some restrictions apply. The Mountain Coaster ride is like a new age sled on a rail. The sensation is a bit like riding a bob sled only slower.

Midweek package prices start at $73 per person, per night and include lodging at the hotel, a single day lift pass, and a single Mountain Coaster ride. The two-night minimum does not apply.

Martin Luther King weekend and Presidents' weekend packages already are being advertised. According to the resort's Web site, those holiday weekends can sell-out early due to Wisp's close proximity to Washington,, D.C., and Baltimore.  The MLK Getaway package costs $181 per person/per night and includes two nights' lodging (minimum), two daytime lift tickets, and a night ticket. The Presidential Getaway is priced at $178 per person/per night and requires a three-night stay. Three daytime lift passes, and a night pass also are included.

All packages require double occupancy.
