Moonlight Basin is running its fall season pass sale through the end of October. But kids who qualify for the resort's M-Bar-T program can get a season pass for free.

Moonlight's season passes are on sale until Oct. 31. Passes cost $495 for adults and $435 for seniors and college students. Midweek passes, valid for Mondays through Fridays, cost $335.

Season passes for juniors ages 11-17 years old cost $435. But the resort's M-Bar-T program--Moonlight Basin Aspirations Reward Team--makes season passes available to kids free. The program provides a season pass as an incentive to improve grade performance or maintain honor roll status.

Moonlight works with schools in five local counties to offer the M-Bar-T season pass program to kids in more than 60 schools. Kids can qualify for a season pass by showing an overall grade improvement of 0.2 from one grading period to the next or by achieving a 3.0 GPA or higher. Home school students may also participate.

The resort accepted grade reports in previous years as verification of GPA or improvement, but this year, the resort will work directly with schools. Grades will be verified at the beginning of the season and again in the middle of the season, according to a system set up with each school.

Students in grades 6-12 are eligible for the M-Bar-T program. Kids 10 years old and younger ski and ride free at Moonlight.
