Wisconsin may be "cheesehead country," but skiing has been around as long as the Packers and just as popular.  Devil's Head, located in the rugged Baraboo Bluffs area of the Badger State, has been serving Midwest skiers and riders for over 40 years.  It attracts snowsports enthusiasts from as far away as Chicago, Dubuque, Indianapolis, and even St. Louis.

The Head is a full-service resort with slopeside lodging and one of the finest collections of blue runs in the Heartland.  You won't find many bumps or any glades here, but the 28 runs are long, impeccably groomed, and boast a nice pitch and roll that's perfect for carving long turns.  They offer four separate terrain parks for snowboarders, including a starter park for newbie's.

Devil's Alley and Outer Limits provide good fall-line skiing and even a couple of small cliff jumps for those that like it steep. Ten chairlifts and six surface tows keep skiers and riders moving up the hill with minimal wait time.

Beginners and lower-intermediate skiers have their own area on top of the hill of the ski hill in a gentle, meadow-like area.  It takes two lifts to get to the top of the Meadows, but than it's 1.5 a miles of easy skiing back to the bottom.  Arguably, it's one of the best beginner runs in the Great Lakes Region, and certainly the longest.

Devil's Head season passes are currently on sale through the rest of October.  All of their passes are unlimited; ski anytime midweek, weekend or holiday.  An adult (13+) pass is now $400, a junior (6-12) and senior (60-65) pass is $350.  They will be going up Nov. 1 respectively by $50 and $75.  They also have Sunday Only pass that is available anytime for $250.
