The Italian resort of Val Gardena will welcome the Alpine Ski World Cup Dec. 18-19, 2009, when it hosts two World Cup races -the Men's Super-G and the Downhill.

The Super-G will take place Dec. 18 and the Downhill Dec. 19. Some ski courses will have limited accessibility to the public during the FIS World Cup races.

Gardena Ronda Express: Riders of the Gardena Ronda Express will require a valid ticket to the race on Friday, Dec. 18 and Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009 up to 2 p.m. An alternative bus service will run and take skiers from Col Raiser to the Ciampinoi Lift station in Selva/Wolkenstein every 30 minutes. The bus starts at 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. and is free of charge.

There are five ticket options available: along the racing course, at the Finish area, on the fan stands, at the Camel Humps, or from the VIP tent. Weekend packages, including lodging, ski pass, and and racing tickets, also are available.

Val Gardena is introducing a number of new lifts and slopes for 2009-10. Skiers and snowboarders can enjoy a new 12-seater cable car ‘Ciampinoi' (2400 p/h) which replaces the old chairlift. There also will be a mix cable car/cabins lift ‘Telemix' which replaces the old chairlift ‘Bullaccia' and will be extended a further 300 metres. The lifts will be open Dec. 4, 2009 to April 11, 2010.
