Afton Alps, one of the largest ski areas near the Twin Cities, has been busy this summer renovating the food service area in the Alps Chalet, according to food and beverage director Brendon McCalla.
The Alps Bar and Grill and the lower level food service area were both expanded offering a more "inviting" dinning facility. They will increase the "grab and go" food selections, including pizza options, and offer a healthier variety of options. A new "home style" cooking section has been added, and the Alps Bar has a beautiful new bar and kitchen. Bar stools have been added and a new cocktail section will be available in the bar area. Look forward to a lot of new gourmet items this coming winter.
The Alps season pass sale is underway through the end of the month, and prices won't get any lower. An adult pass (13 and up) is currently $389, a child (12 and under) and senior (62+) pass is currently $269. A Family of Four Pass is $1239, and if you have three other friends who ski or ride, you can purchase a Four Pack for $1289. All of these passes will go up in price by $50 Nov. 1.
There's also a new College Night Pass that allows the pass holder to ski or ride at night throughout the season for $199. A Limited Pass that is valid Monday through Thursday before 2 p.m. is $159. It's not valid on holidays.
Season passholders this season get a new free daily equipment check, 25-percent off ski shop selected items, discounts on daily green fees in the summer, and special discounts on select ski and ride school programs.
