Delta Airlines plans to continue its nonstop flights this winter between Salt Lake City and the Canadian Rockies International Airport in Cranbrook, B.C. The flight schedule resumes Dec. 19 and runs until Mar. 28.

The two-hour flight will be available Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Flights depart Salt Lake City at 11:10 a.m. and arrive in Cranbrook at 1:25 p.m. Returning flights leave Cranbrook at 1:50 p.m., arriving in Salt Lake City at 3:45 p.m.

The flights, which were introduced last winter, offer U.S. skiers and snowboarders quick access to several British Columbia ski resorts. The two closest resorts are run by Resorts of the Canadian Rockies.

Kimberley Alpine Resort outside Cranbrook sits the closest at 20 minutes from the airport. The resort caters to families with night skiing and evening ice skating, among other activities.

Fernie Alpine Resort is a one-hour drive to the east. The resort is known for its five bowls that act as depositories for volumes of snow that pile up to a depth of a three-story building.

Both Kimberley and Fernie offer ski-in/ski out lodging and on-mountain restaurants. Flights and lodging for both resorts may be book through Resorts of the Canadian Rockies.
