The World's leading snowboarders will be touching down in Innsbruck Dec. 5, in the Billabong Air & Style 2009 - Take Two.
Following the event's resounding success in 2008, this will be Innsbruck's second Billabong Air & Style and will be held in the Bergisel Stadium. The world's top 16 snowboarders will fight it out for the coveted Ring of Glory, which forms part of the Swatch TTR World Tour.
Silvana Giuliani, press officer for Innsbruck Tourist Board, says: "While the snowboarders had to conquer a monstrous quarterpipe last year, this time around they will have to tackle a big air straight jump over a daunting kicker . . . this challenging discipline will inspire enthusiasm once again in 2009, guaranteeing heroic sky-high tricks against a breathtakingly beautiful backdrop."
Besides the pros, young boarders will also get a chance to showcase their talent. Some 12 young snowboarders will compete against each other as part of the Rookie Challenge.
The event takes place against a backdrop of live music. The Hives will rock the stage in the Bergisel Stadium this year.
Ticket sales for Billabong Air & Style Innsbruck-Tirol 09/II have already started. Tickets are available from the official Air & Style Web site for €37 (plus advance booking fee).
