Homewood Mountain Resort is launching two new kids competitive programs this winter. The new freeride ski team and the new alpine race team this winter offer kids a chance to better their skills on the slopes.
"Whether your child is looking to learn how to race, ski the park, fresh powder, or just improve their skills for the whole mountain, the new team programs are a fun way to learn from a coach and meet new friends," said Doug Pierini, Director of Resort Services at Homewood.
Both teams are for kids ages seven to 15. The programs run most of the season on weekends and holidays December through March. They also have a Tuesday and Thursday add-on option for those who want to train more intensively.
"The teams are really intended to give kids quality on-mountain time with great coaching," Pierini added. "With so many days to choose from, kids will have a great chance to become better skiers while having fun."
The new Homewood teams join the collection of local teams at neighboring Alpine Meadows. Competitive and non-competitive coaching are available at Alpine Meadows in skiing, snowboarding, and telemark skiing for kids ages four through 18.
