Liberty Mountain in Pennsylvania continually tweaks its infrastructure and this year is no exception. Skiers, snowboarders, and freestyle enthusiasts on various levels will see numerous improvements

A new quad chairlift was installed on the back side of the mountain. The "First Class" chair in the learning area has been raised four feet to make it easier for beginners to get on the lift and disembark. 

The terrain park has been re-groomed to provide additional space for ski school lessons and new automated snow guns were added to the Sneaky Pete, Lower Nova, Snow Cat Alley and Mid Blue Streak trails.

"The computer-sensitive apparatus is desigened to react quickly to temperature and other climat changes that are conducive to maximum snowmaking," said Liberty President and General Manager Eric Fynn. The mountain also purchased a new state-of-the art groomer to help manicure the mountain.

Flynn also noted upgrades had been made to the lodge and surrounding facilities. "We installed new carpeting, added wood beams to the ceiling and gave our busy Alpine Room a fresh coat of paint," he said.  The Bakery and the lower lodge got additional seating..

Patrons can get a sneak preview of improvements as well as purchase season passes and Advantage cards  at Liberty's Fall Festival and Customer Appreciation Picnic noon to 4 p.m. Oct. 18.. The deadline for pass discounts is Oct. 31.
