Ski Brule, a longtime Midwest family favorite, is offering an advance lift ticket sale that's hard to beat.  You get a seventh ticket free when you purchase six lift tickets online through Saturday, Oct. 10,  The tickets are $30 each, which is a savings of $10 per ticket over regular season pricing.  The free ticket is an added bonus, and all the tickets are good anytime during the season.  How can you go wrong?  The offer is available only online.

Brule opened last season Nov. 11, which is typical of the ski area.  They are routinely one of the first in the Heartland to open and one of the last to close.  You can count on plenty of time to use those tickets.  They stayed open 182 days during the 2005-06 season.  No other Midwest area has posted a longer season.

Ski Brule offers a variety of terrain - slopes, terrain parks, terrain trails and half pipes - that flow off a 500-foot wooded hill in almost 360-degrees.  Many of the trails are sequestered in trees keeping them separate from the wide, boulevard-like slopes, which are often busy on weekends.  Brule was selected as the Midwest's Favorite Ski Area by readers in the 2009 OnTheSnow.com Visitors Choice Awards poll.

The longtime Homestead Lodge, a restored 1880s original UP homestead cabin located partway down the Homestead Trail, is a great place on weekends to sit and watch skiers and boarders go by while feasting on one of their great grilled burgers.  It's one my favorite Heartland ski area hangouts.
