Canaan was covered with nearly five inches of snow over the past week and they're watching the horizon for signs of more incoming weather. Until then, they've got a solid 24-inch to 48-inch base underfoot with three of 37 trails open and a single lift carrying people up the hill. The area hopes to open its tubing park to non-skiing guests later in the month unless the snow gods intervene.
