Sun Peaks Resort is seeing the addition of a new lodge and new restaurants for this winter. Both increase the options for lodging and dining in the village.

The new Kookaburra Lodge, which opens this fall, offers residential apartments. The upscale suites with one to four bedrooms are larger than the average condo and targets those who plan to spend extended periods of time at Sun Peaks. The lodge also added a second tower to the village. Kookaburra's tower features tuned cast brass bells that ring on the hour throughout the day.

The lodge plans to open its new Globe Café and Tapas Bar in November. The café menu will include gourmet paninis, tapas from around the world, international wines, and unique cocktails.

The Delta Sun Peaks Resort hotel is also poised to open two new restaurants in the village this winter. The M Room will feature a fine dining menu highlighting regional, fresh cuisine with daily specials and prix fixes. Morrisey's Public House brings an Irish-inspired pub to the village. Its menu will include new twists on traditional comfort foods from the local region.

The 5 Forty Board Shop in the Fireside Lodge is taking on a new name as well as expanding to include a West Beach Outlet Store. The shop also is enlarging its menu to include Mexican dishes and alcoholic beverages.
