Keystone is full of family activities, while at the same time loaded with terrain parks and features for freeskiers. It has something for everyone on its more than 3,000 acres of skiable terrain. There's more than just skiing and snowboarding. Keystone has a high-speed tubing hill that is back at the top of the mountain.
It's on the way to where you'll find one of the most entertaining dinner spots for families in all of Colorado Ski Country. At the top of Keystone Mountain is Der Fondue Chessel. You have to ride two gondolas to get there, but the fondue dinner is well worth it. You and the kids will end the night standing on the chairs yodeling and doing the Chicken Dance. The restaurant is open Wednesday through Sunday Night. The cost is $60 for adults, $30 for children ages 6-12, and $8 for kids under six. Prices are subject to change.
Keystone Lake is always a huge hit in summer and winter. Go to the lake and rent some ice skates after your day on the slopes. Bring your hockey sticks and get in on a pickup game. The Keystone River Run Gondola project is finished back at the main area of River Run. There is now a new skier bridge from the mountain to the gondola, making it easier to get to the gondola from the slopes. Parking is free if you carpool at Keystone's River Run, and you'll get a spot towards the front.
The Epic Pass or the Summit Pass is what you want to buy to ski and ride Keystone. Vail Resorts will raise prices as the season gets closer so it is something to check on as soon as possible. The Epic Pass has no black-out dates. The cost is $599 ($299 for a child), and you get unlimited, unrestricted skiing and/or snowboarding at Vail, Beaver Creek, Keystone, Breckenridge, and Arapahoe Basin.
The Summit Pass (formerly the Buddy Pass) is a season pass valid for unlimited skiing and riding at Keystone, Breckenridge, and Arapahoe Basin (not Vail and Beaver Creek). The cost is $399 Adult, $309 Teen, and $199 Child. You get six Ski-With-A-Friend tickets so your friends and family can ski at a discounted rate with each of these passes.
