Le Lioran, in the Massif Central, is offering an early bird deal on season passes purchased before Dec. 19, 2009, when the the resort opens.

It is possible to take advantage of Le Lioran's snowy landscape for €290.40 instead of €363 (adult season pass) by purchasing the pass on or before Dec. 18, 2009. Children can also enjoy a reduced price at €143,20 instead of €179.

The resort also extends the deal to teens from 12 to 17 years old, as well as to high school and university students upon presentation of their student card. This youthful group can ski Le Lioran all winter long for €215,20 instead of €269 by buying their season passes ahead of time.

Le Lioran provides a good excuse for a long weekend of skiing; every Friday, clients save 20 percent on the day and half-day passes.

Set in France's Cantal department, Le Lioran stretches over 370 acres and features 60 kilometres of alpine pistes as well as 75 Nordic pistes. Here, skiers glide over Europe's largest volcano, dormant for 6500 years.

With 22 lifts - one cable car, eight chair lifts, 12 drag lifts, and one rope tow - Le Lioran is the Massif Central's most well-equipped resort. Its network of 132 snow canons guarantees fresh snow coverage of 10 of the 42 pistes, including the zone reserved for beginners.
