St. Moritz is kicking off the season with its annual St. Moritz City Race Nov. 28-29, 2009. The race moves the ski slope to the village and attracts celebrities and models showing off the latest trends in ski fashions. The air is filled with music and there is plenty of champagne to go round.
The annual Engadin Winter Golf Tournament Jan. 7-9, 2010 has also become a permanent fixture on the winter calendar. The event - held at Mulets Sports Centre in Silvaplana - comprises nine holes covering a distance between 120 and 180 metres.
The St. Moritz Polo World Cup On Snow takes place Jan. 28-31, 2010. Four polo teams will compete on the frozen Lake St. Moritz for the coveted Cartier Trophy. The Cartier Polo World Cup on Snow is not only the world's most prestigious winter polo tournament, but traditionally the social highlight in St. Moritz.
St. Moritz will once again be the venue for world-class ski competitions. The resort will host the AUDI FIS Ladies Alpine Ski World Cup Jan. 29-31, 2010. These world-class racing competitions - the Downhill, Super-G, and Super Combined Run - offer an impressive sight for spectators.
Since 1988, St. Moritz has hosted what is arguably the most unusual game of cricket in the world - Cricket On Ice. The 22nd game will take place Feb. 4-6, 2010.
The freeride elite will be standing at the top off the 3303-metre-high north face of the Corvatsch Feb. 6-11, 2010, ready to plummet down the steep mountainside. Stimorol Engadinsnow is one of the world's most prestigious events in the freeride scene, with prize-money totalling 20,000 ‘alpine dollars'. Fourteen world-class freeskiers and snowboarders will perform spectacular jumps as well as competing in the Big Air contest.
