Pacific Northwest skiers and riders get the early shows of Matchbook Productions' new film, IN DEEP: The Skiing Experience. The film tours Vancouver, B.C., Portland, and Seattle in its first 10 days of its 200-stop world tour.
The film digs into the meat of what makes for a good day of skiing with footage from Squaw Valley, Keystone, British Columbia, Italy, Haines, Sweden, and Crested Butte, among other locations. MSP's cinematography features some of the best skiers in the world: Mark Abma, Sean Pettit, Eric Hjorleifson, Daron Rahlves, Henrik Windstedt, Chris Davenport, Bobby Brown, Colby West, TJ Schiller, Mike Douglas, Kaj Zackrisson, James Heim, Hugo Harrisson, Rory Bushfield, Ingrid Backstrom, PK Hunder, Jacob Wester, Russ Henshaw, Henrik Harlaut, Alexis Godbout, Michelle Parker, JT Holmes, Sammy Carlson, and Chris Rubens. Shane McConkey, who died in a BASE jumping accident earlier this year, also appears in the film.
Vancouver audiences can catch the film Sept. 24 at 8 p.m. at the Park Theatre. Tickets, which are available at Helly Hansen and the theater box office, cost $15.
The film is scheduled for four showings at Whistler Sept. 25-26 at the Millennium Place Theatre "My Place." Two shows each night begin at 7 and 9 p.m. Tickets, which cost $17, are available at Helly Hansen Whistler, the theater box office, and through Ticketmaster.ca.
Portland audiences have one opportunity to see the film Sept. 29 at the Dolores Winningstad Theatre at 8 p.m. Tickets, which cost $15, are available at US Outdoor, the theatre box office, and through Ticketmaster.com.
The film, which shows at 8 p.m. Oct. 1, has a new venue in Seattle-the King Kat Theater. Tickets, which are available at Helly Hansen Seattle and Bellevue, EVO, the theater box office, and Ticketwest.com, cost $15.
