Ski before everybody else at Tignes! Impatient skiers should mark the date on the calendar; Sept. 26, 2009 is when Tignes opens for the 2009/2010 ski season.
The resort starts off by opening the crescendo ski area, letting avid skiers take to the Grande Motte glacier at over 3000 metres in altitude. The glacier offers 20 kilometres of pistes.
Nov. 28, 2009 the entire Espace Killy, made up of Tignes and Val d'Isère, opens its pistes-300 kilometres of freshly powdered slopes that will stay open until May 2, 2010. This means that in total, Tignes offers a seven month ski season. Like their slogan says, "The longer, the better."
To celebrate the season's opening on the weekend of Nov. 28 and 29, the resort is offering reduced price stays. The deal includes 2 nights accommodation plus a 2 day ski pass for the entire Espace Killy Tignes-Val d'Isère area. As a bonus, they'll even throw in a third day of skiing for free.
For 4 guests in a studio, prices start at €109 per person. For 2 people in a studio, plan for at least €129 per person. For prices starting at €169 per person, a room in a two star hotel or a bed and breakfast can be booked.
