Hunter Mountain's Gold Pass is good for skiing anytime through the season.

Adult Gold Passes cost $749 through Oct. 18, then increase to $899.

Young adult (13 to 18) Gold Passes cost $299, then $699. Junior (7 to 12) Gold Passes cost $299, then $599. Senior (65 and up) Gold Passes cost $399, then $599. Toddler (6 and under) Gold Passes cost $49. Gold Passes for persons 70 and over cost $89. College Season Passes cost $299. Trans-Fer-Able Gold Passes cost $1,199.

Skiers and riders on the family plan can buy the first pass for $749, spouse pass for $629, first child (7 to 18) pass for $299, additional child passes for $249, and toddler pass for $20. Prices go up after Oct. 18.

Gold Pass holders receive 15 percent discounts at most on-mountain eateries; one free group lesson; discounts on season locker rentals; 20 percent discounts at the Ski Shop, Boaad Room and Learning Center Boutique; discounts at area businesses, and 30 percent off ski area retail shops on Season Passholder Day Oct. 17.

Passes are available at Hunter, or may be purchased online.

Hunter Mountain calls itself the "Snowmaking Capital of the World." The resort makes snow early, often, and in large quantities, so the moniker is on the mark. The area is also known for the large numbers of singles it draws from the New York Metro areas.
