Serre Chevalier will host the ninth Trail Blanc of Serre Chevalier Jan. 10, 2010. This is a running race on the snow open to everyone.
The event takes place on two of Serre Chevalier's groomed pistes: the 28-kilometres White Trail and the 10-kilometre La Guisanette. There were 780 runners with competitors from France, Italy, Switzerland, Belgium, Germany, and England last year.
The bibs withdrawal and late registrations will take place at the Maison de la Montagne In Villeneuve Saturday Jan. 9, between 11 a.m and 7 p.m. The 9th Trail Blanc Serre Chevalier race begins Sunday Jan. 10 at 9 a.m. The first runners will arrive at the Parking du Roze at 10 a.m. Lunch is served at 12 p.m. at the Maison de la Montagne. The prize-giving ceremony is at 2:30 p.m.
Serre Chevalier's ski area is open from Dec. 12, 2009 to April 24, 2010. It offers a total of 250 kilometres of runs divided in to 108 pistes for all levels of skier and snowboarder (24 green, 31 blue, 38 red, and 14 black).
The resort comprises 13 villages and is spread over four areas: Briancon, Chantemerle, Villeneuve la Salle, and La Monetier les Bains. The ski area is particularly popular with families.
