Zell am See-Kaprun is hosting a whole range of traditional festivities to suit all age groups in the month of December.

The Krampus Run will take place Dec. 3-5. St. Nicholas brings presents to those children who have been good, but Krampus is said to beat the naughty ones.  The Krampus Run the evenings of Dec. 3 and 4 for children will be held in Thumersbach village square, then Dec. 5 in Salzburgerplatz, Kaprun and in the centre of Zell am See.

The Salzburger Alpine-Advent takes place Dec. 4-5. Semino Rossi, who received the award 'The Crown of Folk Music' in 2007, will be singing a selection of his songs at the Advent gala on Friday evening. The Christmas choir of Zell am See is also performing live.  The traditional Pinzgau Advent concert takes place at the Ferry Porsche Congress Center Saturday.

The Dipping of the Christmas Tree happens next to the Grand Hotel on Lake Zell Dec. 25. A fir tree will be submerged in the waters of Oberschneidbucht, then a ring of swimming torch bearers will pull the tree back onto dry ground. Father Christmas is going to visit the young guests in a boat.
