Info: More Information

The ski areas of Vail Resorts are ready to go on another "epic" season. Those Colorado resorts are Vail, Beaver Creek, Keystone, and Breckenridge (with Heavenly in California). These areas totaled more than five million skier visits last season, which is more than the total skier visits for the state of Utah.

The Epic Pass is back, too, with no black-out dates. The cost is $599 ($299 for a child), and you get unlimited, unrestricted skiing and/or snowboarding at all five of these world-class mountains. Arapahoe Basin even joins in the fun as an added perk. That's a total of more than 16,000 acres of pure, snow-covered enjoyment on some of the best slopes in the world.

The Summit Pass (formerly the Buddy Pass) is another option. It is a season pass valid for unlimited skiing and riding at Keystone, Breckenridge, and Arapahoe Basin (not Vail and Beaver Creek).  You get six Ski-With-A-Friend tickets  with each of these passes, so your friends and family can ski at a discounted rate.

Almost all ski passes are non-transferrable, so don't think you can let your buddy borrow it if you aren't skiing that day. You'll lose your pass and you'll both get in trouble. Also, Vail Resorts hasn't yet set a deadline as to when pass sales end, so get on it quickly. The pass sales could end anytime.
