Sun Valley introduced a new season pass for the winter 2009-10 season. The Sun Plus Season Pass, which is on sale through Oct. 31, now includes skiing at Snowbasin, Utah.
Passholders receive six days of skiing or snowboarding at Snowbasin. The non-transferable pass grants the passholder direct to lift access rather than requiring a stop at a ticket window. The ski days are automatically deducted from the ski pass at the lift. The pass is valid at Snowbasin for any day of the 2009-10 winter season.
Discounts also are available to passholders. You can get discounts of 10 percent off at Pete Lane's Demos and Tuning. Discounts can apply to ski tuning, repairs, demos, and rentals, but blackout dates apply from Dec. 19, 2009 to Jan. 3, 2010 and Feb. 12-20, 2010.
Ten percent discounts also are available at a variety of Sun Valley restaurants and shops. Some restrictions and blackout dates apply to these. Passholders can also get a discount on the Sun Valley Heli-Ski Base Day Rate, if space is available.
The Sun Plus Season Pass saw its lowest rate in July, but if purchased by the end of October for $1,699, you still can get it for $300 less than the regular rates.
Those purchasing the Sun Plus Season Pass can add on a Sun Valley Nordic Pass for $100 or Sun Valley-Blaine Country Recreation District Adult Nordic Combined Pass for $264.
