Zillertaler Gletscherbahn is offering the Fascination of Ice guided glacier tours throughout the summer months, priced at €22.50 per adult.

An experienced glacier guide from the Hintertux Ski School takes visitors on a discovery tour of the glacier between July and September. At a spectacular height of 3250 meters, the Hintertuxer Glacier offers breathtaking views. Visitors will walk over ancient glacial ice, explore inside the glacier, and learn interesting facts about the origin and structure.

The glacier stretches about four kilometers in length and up to 120 meters deep in places. Summer skiing and snowboarding are also possible in the summer months. The Fascination of Ice guided tours take place at 11 a.m and 1 p.m on Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays from July until the end of Sept. 2009.

The Huntertuxer Glacier also offers summer skiing on 18 kilometers of sunny pistes with nine lift systems. Snowboarders will enjoy the halfpipe, funboxes, table-tops, and rails at the Betterpark. Other glacial activities during the summer months include hiking biking trails and the Gletscherflohpark for younger guests.

Alternatively, relaxing afternoons can be spent chilling out and catching some rays on the sun loungers on the terraces of the Tuzer Fernerhaus, the Panorama Terrace, or the Sommerbergalm Panorama Restaurant.
