In fact, some regions have received more than 300mm of rain this week, which is near record levels. Mid-week has forecasters promising a cold front will clash with the warm wet air and local skiers are hoping that the intersection of the two will blanket the region in snow. "Drop the temperature a couple of degrees," says Mt. Baker snowboarder Brad Smithers, "and we've got ourselves a powder fest. I'm sure it's not far off."
