Nub's Nob Ski Area is often lauded for having some of the best snow conditions around the Great Lakes. Their preseason season pass sale ends on Oct.11, so act quickly to lock in the best prices of the season.

Purchasing an adult season pass on the family plan before the above date offers a savings of nearly $90 over the regular season price. Savings on a teen pass (13-19) through the family plan is $65, and, on a child’s pass (nine-12) is $45. Through the family plan (four-plus) an adult pass is $497.25, a teen pass is $365 and a children's pass is $255. Individual rates are $526.50, $387 and $270 respectively until Oct. 11.

They also have a season pass that allows you to ski throughout the season except on Saturdays from Dec. 27 through March 10, 2012, and the holiday period from Dec. 28-Jan. 1. An adult rate is currently $396 and will be going up to $440 on Oct. 11. Other passes allow you to pick a single day per week to ski or two four-hour periods during the week. Nub’s has received numerous accolades for snow conditions and grooming in national and Midwest publications over the last decade. Not resting on their laurels, they continued expanding their snowmaking system by adding 11 patterned Nub’s Nob snowguns over the summer bringing the total arsenal to 281. Just look for a blizzard hanging over the hill in early season. It allows them to normally stay open through at least the first week of April, meaning season pass holders can get their money’s worth.
