The first superpipe in North America is open. Superpipe enthusiasts from everywhere in Colorado lined up for a turn at the tricks. Freestyle skiers and boarders are trekking to Copper to get in some good early season training. Copper's Eagle Jib Park is open. The Catalyst Terrain Park is expected to open in late December. Copper's Lauren Pelletreau reports a busy Thanksgiving weekend. The Summit County resort has 159 acres open, with plans to open Andy's Encore trail the first weekend in December. Pelletreau thinks many of the Front Range people haven't made it up to Summit County yet, since the weather has been warm. "They're still golfing and playing tennis," she says. She adds that the destination resort visitors are still coming and booking well in advance.
