Avoriaz Comes Out Fighting On Snow Cover

Avoriaz is the first resort to actively market itself on the basis of its snow record – a rare move in Europe following the negative and often inaccurate reporting of 'no snow in the Alp' last winter. Avoriaz is a "snow-bubble" whose success comes from its guaranteed snow-coverage which was the case again last year leading to increased profits when it was being reported in mainstream media that there was "no snow in the Alps" Over the last 10 years, the average snow coverage per winter has been 28 feet. Last winter the resort still received 30 feet including 30 inches in November 06, four feet in December and between four and five feet of snow each month from January to April.
