The countdown to the end of the winter season 2008-2009 has begun, but Verbier still has plenty of on-slope events, competitions, and entertainment to look forward to.

The Verbier High Five by Carlsberg takes place April 4 and is comprised of five competitions open to downhill skiers, snowboarders, and telemarkers. The competitions feature a giant slalom, boarder cross, mogul run, a fun triathlon, and a parallel slalom to sort out the best in each category. This event offers the opportunity to race with champions and the day is rounded off with lively après ski in the resort bars and discos.

The XSpeedSki open race returns to Verbier April 18-24. The event is held on the impressive Mont-Fort slopes where the 200 km/hour speed barrier was broken for the first time in Switzerland.

Ending the season April 25-26 is the Ultime Session. This event features plenty of on-slope entertainment, including the big air event, waterslide contest, and equipment test. The resort also will be offering a wealth of entertainment in the resort with live music and themed evenings in bars and discos.

Verbier is set at an altitude of 1500 metres and offers a total of 410 kilometres of piste. Skiers and snowboarders can reach the lofty heights of 3330 metres.
