Moonlight Basin wraps up its winter season by offering big discounts with their early season pass sale. The resort is also in the process of developing more summer activities.
The lifts at Moonlight run until Apr. 12. That's also the deadline for their early season pass sale for winter 2009-10. The discounted pass requires skiing or riding only eight times to make it pay for itself. New pass purchasers may use next year's pass to ski for the remainder of this year.
Moonlight passholders also get benefits. The resort opens the lifts early for season passholders twice during the season for first tracks. Passholders may bring a friend skiing for $10 on certain days. After closing day, pass rates increase for the second sale, which lasts through October.
Program sign ups for next season begin this spring. The resort's Snowsports School added two new multi-week programs this year that proved popular: -a tot class for three- to five-year-olds, and a freeride course for young skiers and snowboarders ready for big mountain riding and advanced park features. Both programs will be offered next year, along with their traditional All Mountain Kids. The school plans to add new programs for women and seniors, too.
Moonlight is developing their summer activities on the mountain, taking advantage of their property sitting on a natural wildlife corridor between two wilderness areas. The resort plans to build more hiking trails, offer guided hikes, and add horseback riding.
Resort lodging stays open through summer, along with the Timbers Restaurant and spa. One special women's summer spa package will include accommodations, hiking, spa treatments, and a wine and cheese party. Call 866-512-7716 for resort questions and 800-845-4428 for lodging information.
