New Mexico's Sipapu Ski and Summer Resort lifts will be open from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., giving skiers and snowboarders an extra hour every afternoon on the slopes. With Sipapu on pace to shatter attendance and growth records this season - plus the added inches of fresh snow in March - officials decided to show their appreciation to guests by expanding the lift hours.

"Guests always enjoy spring skiing, so we decided to kick it up a notch by giving them what they want: more time on the slopes," said John Paul Bradley, Sipapu's general manager. "Plus, with the extra daylight, visitors can take advantage of the afternoon sunshine.

"This is just another way Sipapu would like to tell our guests ‘thank you' for giving us the best season in our history," Bradley added.

Sipapu's full-service rental shop will open beginning at 9 a.m. The ticket offices and Riverside Café will maintain their regular business hours: the ticket office opens at 8 a.m., and the Riverside Café opens at 7:30 a.m.

March 29 marks the end of daily operations for Sipapu. They will resume regular lift operations during weekends, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. (weather and conditions permitting) beginning April 4. Check OnTheSnow.com for the latest updates.

Sipapu is scheduled to again be the last resort to close in New Mexico, with closing date set for April 12.

Lift tickets are just $25 for adults and teens, and $10 for kids and seniors. Fourth graders, kids ages six and younger, guests who are 40 years old, and seniors 70 or better ski and ride free everyday at Sipapu.

Sipapu Ski and Summer Resort enters the 2008-09 ski season as New Mexico's fastest growing resort, yet visitors won't have to wait in line for a lift. Call 800-587-2240 for more information about Sipapu.
