Mountain High Quad Gives You A Lift

Mountain High has plenty of playthings for park rats. Mountain High has plenty of playthings for park rats.

Mountain High in Southern California is one of those delightful mid-size resorts that have a little bit of everything.

Mountain High is a snowboarder's paradise, about a 90-minute drive from downtown Los Angeles off Interstate 15. But two-plankers are more than welcome -- with three separate mini-resorts: West Peak is an all-mountain terrain park for day and night riding, East Peak is for cruising groomers, and North Peak is all beginner terrain.

The resort has 11 chairlifts and five more of the surface variety that provide access to 62 trails spread over its 290 acres of rideable terrain, 75 percent of which is covered by snowmaking machinery.

What's even nicer is that you can have all this for a little more than $19 an outing.

Pick up The Quad and you get four nights of riding for $79, which comes out to a 40 percent savings on weekends and peak periods and 35 percent on other nights. The Quad, which essentially pays for itself in less than three visits to Mountain High, is one of those options that lets you bypass the ticket windows and go straight to the lifts.

The Quad is good eight hours a day and night after March 30.
