About Alpine Racing

CMSC Alpine Racing is aimed at skiers of all levels. Any adult who can navigate a Nastar course will have fun and be competitive in this program. Racers with top-of-the-line gear, speedsuits and secret waxing methods will find like minded skiers here as well.

The 14 race series, spread out over three months, provides skiing and social opportunities for all. Each race consists of two runs, with the winners determined by fasted combined time in each class. Slalom races require quick, short radius turns and test technical ski skills. Giant slalom (GS) races call for wider turns and allow racers to complete the course at higher speeds. Some areas in this year’s schedule include a super G race for intermediate and advanced racers. The super G races do not count towards overall CMSC points, but they are an added thrill for many participants.

This program is put together by a dedicated committee, all volunteers who strive to accommodate a wide variety of skiers and ability levels.
