If you’ve yet to hear rumblings of the total solar eclipse, dubbed “The Great American Eclipse,” that’s set to cross over the lower 48 on Aug. 21, 2017, then it's high time you crawl out from under your rock.

While the world holds its collective breath in anticipation of this once in a lifetime spectacle, we revisit Salomon’s "Eclipse" film in an effort to prepare for what’s waiting on the horizon. "Eclipse" won Best Adventure Film at the New York WILD Film Festival and Best Snow Sports Film at Banff. Photographer Reuben Krabbe follows Cody Townsend and friends on a journey to capture a skier framed by a total solar eclipse.

The results are stunning. As to how the images in this film will compete with witnessing a total solar eclipse in person…well, we’ll just have to wait and see.
