Kylie Minogue will headline the Top of the Mountain concert in Ischgl this May. This end-of-season concert will bring a close to one of Ischgl's best seasons for snow on record.

Kylie follows in the footsteps of a long line of superstars who have entertained skiers and boarders in the Austrian resort's traditional Top of the Mountain gig, including Elton John, The Pussycat Dolls, Rihanna, Lionel Richie, Scissor Sisters and Stereophonics.

The concert will take place around lunchtime Saturday May 2 - the closing weekend of the Tirolean resort. About 20,000 visitors are expected to attend the concert, held in a natural bowl near the top station of the main Silvrettabahn gondola from the centre of the village.

Ischgl Tourist Office says: "Kylie will close a season that has so far been one of Ischgl's best for snow on record, with superb skiing conditions from the opening at the end of November."

The opening of Ischgl's 2008-09 season was marked by a concert in the village starring Leona Lewis and Gabriella Cilmi. The last day of skiing will be May 3, the day after the concert. The event is free for those with lift passes. Bring the suntan cream for sure.
