The end of the season is coming fast. Sunday, April 5, is the last day of skiing and riding at Granite Peak, but, in the meantime, get ready for some great events and entertainment coming to the Peak and Wausau later this month.

A great big air competition takes place at the Peak Saturday, March 28, with prizes for the top three 16 and over and for 15 and under. It's an open class competition with a $10 entry fee. The local band G-Man will be performing a variety of music in the New Saloon from 2-10 p.m.

National band Carolina Rain will be bringing their brand of contemporary country hits and original music to the Sundance Chalet from 8:30-11 p.m. The Virginia band achieved critical acclaim with their debut album in 2006. Tickets are available online.

Performing at the Grand Theater in downtown Wausau Tuesday, March 31 are Asleep At The Wheel, the Grammy-winning kings of Texas swing. It's big band western swing music at its best, and Asleep has entertained millions. This group would be worth staying over for an extra couple of days and enjoying some great late season skiing and riding topped off with some great music when you can hear Carolina Rain and Asleep At The Wheel within a couple of days of each other. What a finish for the 2008-09 season.
