Engelberg has launched an Easter/Spring Season Pass valid for more than two months through the resort's long Spring ski season which continues right through March 24. The pass costs 350 Swiss francs (233 Euros) for however many days you want to ski.
The famous Swiss resort is also offering a number of special package deals through April 19, 2009.
Prices start at 399 Swiss francs (266 Euros) for mid-week stays including bed and breakfast accommodation, ski pass, and a special guest pass entitling you to various discounts at activities shops and restaurants throughout the resort.
The lowest price quoted is for a three-night stay in what the resort describes as a ‘Category C' hotel (1 or 2 star) such as the Alpenclub, Bellevue, Garni Hostatt, Sunnmatt, Hoheneck, or the Ski Lodge.
Category B hotels are available on the same package from 439 Swiss Francs (293 Euros) or top class Category A hotels (the Eienwäldli, Ramada or Waldegg) from 549 Swiss Francs (336 Euros). Children aged up to five can stay free in a parent's room, pay 50 percent from age 6 to 12, or save 30 percent from age 13 to 16.
Half-board is available at a supplement of from 32 Swiss Francs (21 Euros) to costs 45 Swiss Francs (21 Euros) per person per night depending on the hotel. Single rooms are available at a supplement.
Engelberg is an historic isolated village which grew up around a Benedictine monastery (established in 1120). The monks brought skiing here early in the 20th century . The Rotair, the world's first revolving cable car is here, as is the Titlis, where the nearby Ice flyer six-seater chair opened in 2000.
