Once again the U.S. Open Snowboarding Championships arrives at Stratton for one of the great on-snow spectacles of New England.

The spectator-friendly event is held in the Sun Bowl, with excellent terrain for competitors and great visibility for viewers to see most events.

The USO is the final stop of the Burton Global Open Series, where the top male and female in the series will be awarded $100,000 each.

It also is the culminating stop on the men's TTR World Snowboard Tour and the top male will be awarded the TTR world title.

New this season: All competitors who are 13 years of age or under at the time of competition must wear a helmet.

Because of the large number of spectators that come to the U.S. Open, carpooling is highly encouraged. In addition, the Stratton shuttles will be running each day from Stratton's main parking lot and from auxiliary parking locations to the Sun Bowl Base Lodge. For those who must park at the Sun Bowl Base Lodge, arrive early to secure a spot and to avoid traffic congestion.
