Many will factor in the remaining weeks of this season, as winter heads toward spring with much kick left. Indeed, many skiers and snowboarders look forward to March as the finest part of the season, with ample snow, longer and warmer days, and a winter's worth of practice under skis or boards.

Areas turn to outdoor barbecues, lower prices, and zanier events to keep people coming back.
