Next season's ski wear is slope-to-street savvy, allowing skiers and riders to maximize their gear budget with a one-kit quiver. Insulated resort-centric styles are being bolstered with synthetic and mixed materials to mimic down's performance while leaving behind its tendency to clump and slump.

On the backcountry front, technical hardshells wear like a softshell, shedding weight and gaining a nicer hand inside and out without losing the least bit of water-resistance.

Bright color pops hold steady for bolder styles that contrast against the more subdued and classic earth tones. We're also seeing some of last-season's Pantone Color of the Year, Marsala, hanging on for another season, along with an eye-pleasing periwinkle-esque mix of purple-blue.
