Mammoth's 2015/2016 season-to-date snowfall just surpassed by 1 foot what fell ALL of last season, and we're only halfway through January. In fact, it's setting up to be the biggest season for the mountain since the insane days of 2010/2011 that graced the slopes with 668.5 inches... or almost 70 percent above the average 400 inches.

Suffice it to say, it's about dang time snowflakes show their fickle face and paint the town white. OnTheSnow Senior Photographer, Liam Doran, got a chance to explore Mammoth as it should be and even got a glimpse of why Glen Plake calls these slopes and surroundings his favorite with a personal backcountry tour from the Hall of Famer himself.
