Indianhead Mountain, the big chief of UP ski resorts, has some great March events scheduled. Skiing and riding have been superb with all the great snow - so far over 12 feet - this season.

A bikini race and fashion show is Saturday, March 21. This popular spectator event takes place at 1 p.m. on the Chippewa Headwall. These UP women are tough, and they will be going all out. Best time and crowd appeal prizes are handed out. It's a modified slalom course set up, and prizes include a season pass and a weekend lift and lodging package.

The infamous Slalom Mountain Bike Race takes place on Voyager's Hi-way starting at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 28 This popular spectator event is a timed run and the better of two runs counts for score. Medals and one daily lift ticket for the upcoming season are awarded to the first three finishers. It's a $10 entry fee and you can sign up at the Guest Service desk until 11 a.m. race day. The video playback takes place in the Summit Center after the race at 4 p.m. The race is a GS/slalom type course, no jumps, helmets must be worn and, oh yeah, no chains or spikes allowed.

Great lodging deals abound throughout March and early April. You can log on to check them out and book a reservation.
