Nubs Nob has had a great season, and they plan on staying open, weather permitting, until April 5. Their late season discount period begins March 16. It's some of the best skiing and riding of the year with spring fast approaching. What more could you ask for; longer days, warming temps and reduced rates through the end of the season.

Nubs throws its version of Mardi Gras Saturday, March 21; it's always a blast with fun and games for all. There's a costume contest, Crazy Couples and Pepsi Challenge races, and don't miss the Soaker Cup Challenge, a real crowd pleaser. Popular northern Michigan entertainer Sean Ryan, who often appears at the Nob, will be performing in Nub's Pub from 3 to 6 p.m.

Spring Ski & Ride promotion begins March 22. Your lift tickets are included in your lodging rate when staying at one of the participating lodging properties in the Petoskey/Harbor Springs area. Call the Convention and Visitors Bureau at 800-845-2828 for participating hotels, motels, condominiums, chalets and lodges, or visit the Web site.

I've had some of my best Midwest spring skiing days at Nubs, and they've all occurred in either late March or early April. Last year when I was there in late March I remember writing about the incredible amount of snow they still had on all the trails. It was the most I had seen in 30-some years of skiing Nubs Nob. This season should be no exception.
