In describing the terrain at Lake Louise, a couple of themes surfaced among skiers of every level: endless options, spectacular views.
To quote you, our readers, who submitted firsthand comments via the OnTheSnow App: “WOW! Lake Louise is the most beautiful mountain I have ever skied! Add to that an awesome variety of terrain, great lift system and a friendly and helpful staff and you have a world-class resort. We loved the runs off the Paradise chair in the Back Bowls. Locals are super friendly. I love this mountain!”
“Best in Alberta for sure. For those who just started to ski, their green runs feel more like blue runs on all mountains in Alberta. But it has great bunny hill. If you are intermediate/advanced or expert skier, you will for sure have a lot of fun. Lake Louise is huge, that goes for both back and front side of the mountain. Very long runs, high speed chairs, any kind of terrain make this mountain the best in Alberta.”
“Beautiful views, lots of terrain,” and “Big terrain, lots of runs, fun snow.”
“I've been gong to Lake Louise for years. My favorite mountain. I love the longer runs, and different types of terrain. If you're a beginner, there are wide open green runs, as you progress there is everything for any level or skier or rider. If you want the full length of run 5 miles aka 8 km, you have to be of advanced level.”
To these sentiments, Charlie Locke, the resorts owner and proprietor adds: “Our family has lived and skied on these mountains for decades and the sense of awe they deliver never dulls. We hear people constantly rave about the terrain, there’s just so much for everyone. And when you wrap it all in some of most beautiful scenery in the world, we’re not surprised, and very pleased, OTS has chosen to award Lake Louise with 'Best Terrain.'”
