It's Time To Spring Into Aspen

It still snows big time at Aspen in the spring. It still snows big time at Aspen in the spring.

Spring is just around the corner, and what better place to spend what many riders believe to be the perfect time of year than in Aspen?

If bright sun, soft snow, and warm temperatures aren't enough to lure you out there, how about the resort's Perfect Storm package?

This offer, which must be purchased by March 19 but is good until the Aspen-area lifts stop spinning April 12, gives guests five days of lodging, lift tickets, and rentals for the price of four.

Also, each skier and snowboarder - or just plain tourist, for that matter - who books the package receives the Perfect Storm-Card, which is good for in-resort discounts including 10 percent off lunches at select on-mountain restaurants, 15 percent off up to two adult group ski school lessons, 25 percent off any retail or tuning and repairs at selected resort-operated shops.

While you're there - in Aspen, not on the Web site - you might want to check out the Covergirl Snow Angels competition that will take place the weekend of April 3-5 on Fanny Hill at Snowmass.

Gretchen Bleiler, a local resident who also happens to be an Olympic and X Games multi-medalist, is inviting a bunch of her snowboarding friends and rivals to partake in the 2nd annual superpipe contest.
