Looking to buy tickets for the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic Games? Phase one ticketing sales have already closed, but more opportunities to purchase tickets open this spring.

Remaining tickets for Olympic events go on sale to the general public on a first-come, first-serve basis in late spring 2009, with the specific starting and ending dates yet to be announced. Ticket purchases this spring will include a general seating location only, with specific seats assigned later. Special accessible seating tickets are available for people with disabilities. The outlets for purchasing tickets vary depending on citizenship.

Canadian residents can purchase tickets online or by phone through the official ticketing center at 800-842-5387. Vancouver 2010 accepts only one credit card: Visa.

Those living outside Canada regardless of citizenship must purchase tickets through official ticketing agents for each nation's Olympic committee. U.S. residents may purchase tickets through CoSport, the U.S. Olympic Committee-authorized outlet. CoSport is also the official ticket sales outlet for residents of Australia, Austria, Bulgaria, Sweden, and countries within the European Union and European Economic Zone. Contact the company online or call 908-766-2227. CoSport accepts payment from Visa, MasterCard, and American Express.

Alpine event tickets for Whistler races range from $85 to $150 CAD. Snowboard and freestyle competition tickets for Cypress Mountain run $50 to 150 CAD. Events at Whistler Olympic Park - biathlon, cross-country, Nordic combined, and ski jumping vary for each event between $25-210 CAD. Opening and closing ceremonies tickets for BC Place start at $185 and go up to $1,118 and $793 CAD, respectively.

Tickets for any available remaining seats will go on sale in the fall and during the Games. Check with the official ticketing outlets for schedules and purchasing details.

how much more do they get near the end of the year?

I'd like to try and plan a trip around this, but do tickets sell out real fast and boost up the prices usually?

    Any help would be appreciated

There's something that's odd about the way that the first batch of tickets went out. Something about a waiting list, I'm not sure the details, but I'm glad that there is something.
