Mt. Hood Meadows is moving forward with plans to add an extra weekend of operations April 17 - 19. The resort initially had announced daily operations through this Sunday, but the weather outlook and the resort’s proven ability to harvest and manage the snowpack will allow it to offer the three bonus days. Lifts will be scheduled from 9 AM - 4 PM all three days, which most likely will bring the season to an end according to resort spokesman Dave Tragethon. “April has brought us the snow we needed to make this commitment to continue, but more importantly the temperatures have been winter like allowing us to maintain good coverage and conditions. We are grateful for the weather and the chance to offer our guests these three additional days to enjoy the mountain.” The resort ski and snowboard school will offer adult and kids lessons and the equipment rental shop will be open. There are season ending deals at the sport shops of up to 70% off so it’s a great time to shop for next season. Meadows will have several restaurant options, including the Paradise Sun Deck the perfect place to celebrate and reflect on the season at the end of the ski day. The Alpenstube will feature special Apres Ski pricing all three days. Looping specialist Tony Smiley will perform Saturday, April 18 and the resort is planning additional entertainment for the bonus days. There will also be some special guest appreciation and Passholder appreciation activities and recognition presented. More details on the three day extension will be announced next week. Midweek and Southside season pass holders will have all mountain access all three days. Night passholders can receive $30 lift tickets or upgrade to a Spring Pass for $59. Those holding other ski area season passes can purchase $30 lift tickets when they show their pass. The lift ticket price will be $59 at the resort, or $49 when purchased in advance online. That special online adult ticket also offers companion kids tickets (ages 7 - 14) for just $19.
