Even though there is still snow on the ground and nighttime temperatures are below freezing, the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest is looking for hardworking people for summer seasonal jobs in the fire, recreation, archaeology, forestry, range, and wildlife programs. Positions are available on each of the Forest's seven Ranger Districts. The Logan Ranger District is headquartered out of Logan, Utah; the Ogden Ranger District is headquartered out of Ogden, Utah; the Salt Lake Ranger District is headquartered out of Salt Lake City, Utah; the Heber-Kamas Ranger District is headquartered out of Heber, Utah; the Evanston/Mt. View Ranger Districts are headquartered out of Evanston, Wyoming; Pleasant Grove Ranger District is headquartered out of Pleasant Grove, Utah; and the Spanish Fork Ranger District is headquartered out of Spanish Fork, Utah.

Seasonal firefighting positions are part of a large, forest-wide firefighting organization that is responsible for locating, responding to and suppressing wildland fires. Other duties could include participation in thinning projects, prescribed burns, wildland fire use fires, and other forest projects.

Possible positions available are:

Wildlife Technicians - GS 4 and 5

Range Technicians - GS 4 and 5

Recreation Technicians - GS 3, 4 and 5

Wildland Firefighter - GS 3, 4 and 5

Helitack Crew Member - GS 4 and 5

Engine Crew Member - GS 4 and 5

Pay Rates: GS-3=$11.34 per hour; GS-4=$12.73 per hour; GS-5=$14.24 per hour
